Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Center Warehousing and Installation Project

The Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center is a beautiful rustic resort nestled at the edge of the Rocky Mountains in Aurora, Colorado. It features 1,501 rooms and suites plus more than 485,000 square feet of convention space, along with extensive public space areas.

Our Role

Our Role

Beltmann was tasked with formulating a thorough logistics plan that would efficiently meet all of the project milestones, managing the entire process to work in concert with the construction schedule. We were in charge of receiving, storing and managing all FF&E, including the distribution and installation of all vanities, tops, backsplashes, and sinks as part of a complex FF&E room package. We had to organize, kit and distribute guestroom OS&E into room specific packaging (room-in-a-box). In addition, Beltmann was responsible for the installation of artwork and sculptures in multiple restaurants and public areas throughout the resort.

challenge

Challenge

As with any large, complex project, flexibility in scheduling and providing the right amount of resources was necessary to adapt to a changing schedule.  Our extensive resources allowed Beltmann to adjust as needed to meet critical dates. We had to meet every milestone, finish on schedule, and limit any damage to products and facilities by expertly managing the process.

solution

Solution

Our team worked with the purchasing agent, general contractor and owner to formulate a plan that addressed and met every project milestone. The closets and amenity centers were FF&E pieces with extremely tight tolerances to adhere to, so we developed a process that was efficient while still taking the care and time to install to our high quality standards. We worked closely with the plumber and general contractor to install the vanities, tops and sinks. Our idea to install the faucets and sinks on the tops prior to installing was instrumental in limiting the need for the plumber to have to work in close quarters once the vanity was installed.  This saved time and greatly improved the quality of the vanity, sink and faucet installation. We set-up multiple teams that worked in different areas simultaneously.   We sourced and managed multiple warehouse partners to meet project requirements and implemented a collaborative technology solution which enabled all stakeholders to monitor the progress of receiving, delivery, installation and room turnover. By managing all warehousing and installation, Beltmann’s team was able to work around obstacles and see the big picture.
